  1. I did have a look at Chrysler 300’s – but not seriously as they’re way out of my budget. A year old one, pre-owned, eight thousand miles on the clock, cost the equivalent of $46,000 so I did the sensible thing and bought a vaguely boring used Ford Mondeo for much, much less – practical but uninspiring. It’s about the same size as a Chevy Malibu and I picked it up this morning from a dealership in Dunmow, a village forty miles outside London, in the wilds of the county of Essex. The Chrysler remains but a dream.
