We’ve just got back from visiting with my brother and have just started to listen to this episode. Hmm….. are you still taking the antibiotic meds for the dental infection? They can affect your stomach – it’s a common side-effect. Did you say that the discomfort/pain is related to when you eat something? That sounds like it may be gastritis as a result of the antibiotics or possibly a stomach ulcer is developing. (an ulcer’s NOT the end of the world & is easy to treat, so don’t panic!) Or if the pain occurs after eating that may be some kinda irritation to the lining of your duodenum – the bit of your gut after ya stomach. Either way, if it continues and/or gets worse, yep, a doctors visit is in order I’d say. My money’s on the antibiotic meds being the cause.
I have a similar viewpoint to yours in respect of our own, British, involvement in Afghanistan. Quite why we’re in there is unclear and uncertain. Terrorists?…… nope, they’ve all relocated to Pakistan. The Opium growers & eradicating the heroin trade? ….. nope, no signs of success in that regard, never have had & never will have. The Taliban? ….. medieval & repressive in their beliefs & deeds…….not good people but that’s how they do in that part of the world, who are we to try to change the habits of centuries.
The Gap cap enjoyed it’s evening down at my brothers place, Mike & I talked about our vacation and of course about our visit to you – he was interested in how you & I came to meet each other as he knows nothing about podcasts & podcasting. He was quite intrigued so you may well end up with another listener …. although he is straight he’s very broadminded – he’s had to be with me as his brother.
With regard to your thoughts at the end of the episode, Nick – I can appreciate the way you feel. I accept, albeit very reluctantly, that you will do what you want to do … as is your right. Whatever happens at whatever point in the future, I will always be thankful that I discovered this podcast and that I grew to know you.
NOTE: Paul’s comments were made concerning the original recording.
I wish you’d let us, the listeners, decide if you’re wasting our time or not. Just so you know, you’re not. Thanks for the lovely cricket sounds…you’re a lucky man – rain and crickets, the sounds of summer. I wish I didn’t live in a desert. Ah well, as long as you’re there, I can partake.
This is the benefit of iTunes subscribing and updating often, the story about your Uncle was fascinating – my Uncle Anthony died of a heart attack just as he was turning his life around, it upsets me just to think about it even now.

I guess what you’re saying is that if you are a subscriber you will get my podcast before I get podcasters remorse and delete it. I guess you’re correct Zac. Or one of you could sell the original recording for a price. Probably wouldn’t get much for it. Much of what I say here has been said at one time or another in prior podcasts. Also nice to see Kaye is still around.
Nick, you should know that I do appreciate your effort in doing podcasts, whether long, short, or different, it is always interesting and something to crave for. I may randomly do post a comment in your recent podcasts but I never failed to listen and I make sure I find time to listen even on my very hectic schedules right now, because I think it’s worth listening. You are not wasting my time.
Would love to hear more and always looking forward.
Have a great day Nick!
